Born in Newcastle, UK, Mark is a composer for Film and Television.

Since his first exposure to film music watching Star Wars in 1977 he has been passionate about film scores. He began his musical journey playing bass and keyboards in local bands before constructing his own personal studio in London and spending many years as a music producer and sound engineer for film and media projects. Since then he has been able to exercise his love of sound and music for the media through both scoring music to picture and also carrying out sound post production duties on many projects.

He has been fortunate to work with a wide range of recognized international artists and filmmakers on projects as varied as short films and commercials through to features and concert hall performances and is proud to have been a contributor on many award winning films, media productions and musical projects.

In addition to composing, Mark is a multi-award winning film producer and director of two film production companies based in London, Atlantic Picture Company and Catchlight Productions. His work has screened at film festivals worldwide including Cannes, winning awards and securing international distribution.

Working daily as a producer and as a composer, Mark has the invaluable ability to juggle the creative and business sides of filmmaking. Working closely with filmmakers has given Mark an affinity and admiration for them and he understands just how important the right music is to accompany a director's vision. In writing music for the media, Mark is acutely aware that the music must serve the picture, enhancing the director's vision and it is this collaborative process that drew him to this field and continues to inspire him on a daily basis.

Mark has an enduring love of travel and has produced recording sessions all over the world; most recently in the United States, China and Singapore. After spending several enjoyable years in Los Angeles, Mark now divides his time between homes and studios in New York and London whilst working on a wide variety of music and media ventures.
